A lil' More Info

I enjoy arts and crafts. Always have, probably hopefully, always will. I've been sewing since I can remember. Trust me, did not start off very well. Gosh, I've improved over the years.. yes yes I have. I learned to knit from my grandmother, and I learned to crochet from my host mother during a Girl Scout Trip in Indiana. I generally have an affinity of the arts. Other things I try to do are draw, paint, watercolors, write music, sing, spin poi, play musical instruments, and dance. I love it all.

I dream of Videogames

I did not grow up with much TV watching or videogaming. The only time I got to play video games were when I visited my cousins. My brother's first gaming system was the GameBoy Slim. His second was the Playstation. My first system, Playstation 2. Show's you how behind I was. However, I had a great run of life playing Computer PC-based games including my faves Wolfenstein 3D and the Dr. Brain series. So, it took me a while to get into anime/videogames/etc.

Path to Anime-dom

My gateway anime was Sailor Moon, back in 1999 when there was still Toonami. I had seen it once before... and thought it stupid. The second time I saw it, I happened to see the final episode of the 1st season. It hooked me. Then someone told me I could learn more about Sailor Moon on the internet! That would seal my fate. I got online with my 56K dial-up modem, the world of anime was revealed to me, and I was mesmerized by it.

Cosplay Beginnings

My first "cosplay" was for a Halloween party at the Penn State Anime Organizations Halloween party in 2003. My first documented cosplay was at my first convention in 2004. I really have come to love cosplay. Making costumes, to me, is like solving a puzzle. There's alot of work and effort that goes into taking a animated 2d of even 3d image and trying to brings its physics and structures into our reality. However, the end result is totally worth it!

GosuLoli and me

Aside from cosplay, I like to sew and wear Gothic & Lolita fashion. Please observe an example to your right [Note: This image depicts a very very loose interpretation of the style]. An avid watcher of period dramas like Avonlea and Anne of Green gables, lolita fashion quickly drew my interest. My first foray into lolita fashion was in 2004 at Otakon. Lolita fashion takes a while to learn, so my early years were rocky, but I've gotten a hold of my preferences and style now. This encouraged me to learn alot more about sewing.

No real Heading here

Cosplay along with gothic & lolita fashion have encouraged me to learn things I'd never have looked into on my own. I've dabbled in resin casting, polymer clays, wood-working and more. I especially spend alot of time reading up on techniques to use in my upcoming costumes. It's all a learning process, but I love it. It allows me to stretch my brain muscles quite a bit.^^
